Diseases from the past can return.

Natural killer cells reprogrammed inside mice eliminated lymphoma tumors and helped damaged livers heal, though whether this approach could help people with cancer or autoimmune disease remains unknown.” (SciTechDaily, MIT Scientists Reprogram Immune Cells Inside the Body To Destroy Cancer).

It is possible. To use viruses and bacteria. Or their shells as those nanoparticles.

Nanoparticles can activate an immune reaction. By. Stressing those cells. Or. The mRNA can program cells to make antibodies against bacteria or viruses. That can revolutionize medicine production.

Reseachers reprogrammed immune cells to destroy cancer. Same technology. It can be used to activate and form immune resistance. In cases of hemorrhagic fever. Or if some other deadly organism, like plague, is released. That technology helps to program the immune system to resist that organism. The big problem is that. In cases of pandemics. The need for vaccines or some medicines is very high.

Those things must be produced so fast. When. Reseachers make vaccines or medicines against viruses. The big problem is that. All those medicines and vaccines must be customized to resist each specific virus. That makes antiviral medicines slow to produce. And. In the case of pandemics.  The need for those complicated chemicals is huge. The best way to act against viruses. It. Is to program or teach immune cells to detect and destroy the harmful organisms.

“Sabiá virus is a rare, potentially deadly pathogen first identified in Brazil in 1990. It belongs to the arenavirus family and can cause severe hemorrhagic fever, with symptoms that may include bleeding, neurological complications, and organ dysfunction. The loss of natural diversity is a global threat. The loss of rainforests is a well-known threat. But. The loss of biodiversity destroys all forests. If. Some viruses, fungi, or some other thing infect trees.

The lack of species causes this. The same virus or other organism can infect all trees in the area. And when we talk about viruses that come from rainforests. We forget that we can also bring plant diseases from jungles. Those plant diseases can destroy corn and other food crops. The plant diseases can cause famine. So the plant viruses are not harmless. They can be harmless to individual people. But they can destroy food for an entire population.

There was. A suspected plague case in Irkutsk. A 28-year-old lab technician at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute in Siberia died of severe pneumonia, reportedly linked to plague. But the alarm was not real.

“The headlines say “plague.” The facts.  So far, say something smaller and calmer. A young lab technician in Siberia has died, nearly 200 people are being watched as a precaution, and the Russia plague outbreak story is mostly a story of what we still don’t know. Here is a clear, level-headed breakdown.” (Welp Magazine)

Re-emergence of old epidemics is possible. Bodies and graves of people who died in plague and other epidemics would be uncovered when permafrost in Siberia melts. And. Things. Like drinking water come into contact with those bodies.

In Russia, one person was suspected to have died of the plague. There were no secondary cases. The WHO says that there was no pneumonic plague. And it's possible. The bacteria was some form of tuberculosis. There is no information about the dead woman’s health, blood, and other things that help to make conclusions about that. The thing that feeds rumors is that the death happened near a laboratory. That served as a biological warfare program during the Soviet era. The lack of information leaves many questions open. And one of the biggest is. Could Russia have some biological weapons project? Those projects require organisms and things like vaccines. That protect. Own troops and people from weaponized organisms. But. President Putin confirms:

Russians do not have those weapons. And do we believe him? That’s a good question.

The pneumonic plague can be treated with antibiotics. Without prompt treatment, pneumonic plague has “a nearly 100% case-fatality rate,” according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That means antibiotics will help. But the problem is that If. Patients cannot get those antibiotics. That disease is still lethal.

But when humans chop down the rainforest. We face other threats. One. Of those threats is microorganisms that hide in jungles. The new threat is the Sabiá virus. The virus was discovered in 1990. Or, its pathogen was first detected in Brazil.  That virus causes hemorrhagic fever.

Similar to Ebola. And many other similar viruses. The problem is that this virus has been hidden in jungles for 142 years. And the big threat is global warming. Permafrost in Siberia and other northern regions hides victims of plague, diphtheria, and many other diseases. Those bodies. Are frozen for a long time. Those special conditions can store the genetic material of those organisms. And. They can keep their ability to infect patients for a very long time.  We think. We have resistance to viruses like the H1N1 virus that caused the Spanish Flu. That pandemic killed over 100 million people. There are tales. That. This H1N1 turned into normal seasonal influenza. The H1N1 caused a so-called Swine flu. This is one of the most worrying things in that saga.

There. Is a possibility. That swine flu indicates that our immune defenses against H1N1 are decreasing. The reason for that is this. If the immune system ever faces that virus again. The immune system forgets that antigen. And that means our immune cells will not detect those viruses anymore. The H1N1 virus can also transform. This means the virus that caused swine flu.

It was not the same virus. That caused the Spanish Flu. This means that. The virus from the past can return if the immune system forgets it.
